Fishing and boating
Fishing enthusiasts will find plenty to enjoy along the river beaches surrounding the township, with excellent spots for both relaxation and sport.
Winter is Murray crayfish season and a great time to head to the river. If you plant to fish in the Murrumbidgee River, you are required by law to pay the NSW Recreational Fishing Fee and carry proof of payment with you. The fee can be paid at the Gum View Café, by phoning 1300 550 474 or online. You can grab some live bait from the Davis Supermarket (10 Bridge Street, Darlington Point).

The river can be accessed both upstream and downstream, and the town beach adjacent to the caravan park provides easy entry for boating, canoeing and fresh water fishing.
The town beach is accessible adjacent to the Darlington Point Riverside Caravan & Tourist Park, offering a popular and easily accessible riverside spot.
Within Willbriggie Regional Park, along Forest Drive, there are 16 beaches to explore, six of which have basic toilet and BBQ facilities. Download the map below for more details on locations and access.

Cuba Forest also provides access to river beaches and camping areas, along with abundant birdlife and native animals - all within close proximity to fuel, provisions and facilities at Darlington Point.
